Observation On The Effect Of Acupuncture Anesthesia With Ipsilateral And Contralateral Points In Strabotomy

Cooperative Group of Acupuncture Anesthesia for Strabotomy, Henan and Liaoning Provinces

130 cases of strabotomy were carried out under acupuncture anesthesia with an excellent and good effect rate of 85.86%. Acupoints including Qiuhou (extraordinary point), Zanzhu through to Jinming, Eye (auricular point) and Hegu at the same side of operation were compared with those at the opposite side in respect to their analgesic effect after needling. The effects of retaining and not retaining of needles were also compared. It was shown that the acupoints at the same side and retaining of needles gave a better result.
